Bits & Pieces: Why Cynicism is Deadly for Athletes

A study reported in Neurology found that cynical distrust – the belief that others are motivated mainly by selfish concerns – is a good predictor of dementia.

That’s right – cynical people are more likely to go nuts than positive people.

And isn’t that nice. The universe has spoken. If we want to keep all our marbles, we’d better learn to see life’s bummers as blessings. It’s also a terrific reason, if one were needed, for avoiding life’s whiners, cranks, complainers, and creeps.
